Playing Cards and Their Roles:

At the center of the board game, you’ll find Six Stacks of playing cards, with 43 cards in each stack. These stacks drive the game play through a variety of fishing encounters:

• Fish Cards (33 per stack): These cards represent the 10 different types of fish. There are 3 different weights for each of the10 types of fish. Each fish card reflects a set Size and Weight, and players earn points corresponding to that weight when they successfully “catch” that fish.
• Movement Cards (4 per stack): Some cards instruct the player to move forward or backward by 3 to 6 squares. Then player’s turn ends after making the indicated move, adding a strategic twist as positioning on the board becomes crucial.

Setback Cards: A few specific cards introduce misfortunes:

• Hooked Some Trash: 1 card per stack. No points are awarded.
• Snapped Your Fishing Line: 1 card per stack. No points are awarded.
• Lost Your Fish: 1 card per stack. No points are awarded.
• Lose Your Turn: 1 card per stack. No points are awarded.

Bonus Cards:

• Extra Turn: 1 card per stack. No points are awarded.
• Caught A Lost Fishing Rod and Reel: This special card awards a generous bonus of 50 points, representing a significant turnaround moment in the game.

Game Play:

• Players: The game accommodates 2 to 6 players, turning it into an engaging social activity.
• Recommended: age of 8 and above.

Winning the Game:

The primary structure involves players making their way around the board. A player completing two full rounds (laps) of the board is typically considered to have finished the game, as the winner.

However, the true objective goes beyond merely completing the two full rounds (laps). Each player’s success hinges, on the player accumulating the highest point total from their fishing efforts. In essence, if a player who completes two full rounds (laps), also manages to score more points than other players. By catching bigger fish or scoring that bonus 50-point catch—they can emerge as the overall winner.
