After sketching the original concept in late 2013, Michael was determined to turn his vision into a real mobile gaming experience. With no prior background in app development, he turned to the same friend who had inspired the idea in the first place for help finding the right developer. When Michael discovered in late 2022 that the app had been removed from the app stores, he immediately reached out to the original development company. Unfortunately, the response wasn’t what he had hoped for the company had stopped building gaming apps altogether.

Thankfully, they had previously provided Michael with the APK files, though they no longer retained backups themselves. The only support they could offer was a short list of developer contacts and phone numbers.

As Michael began searching for a new development partner, he quickly learned that nearly every conversation started with the same question:
“Do you have the source code and APK files?”

Armed with only the APK files and no access to the original source code, the challenge became clear. Determined to revive the app, Michael initially hired a freelancer who made big promises. However, after multiple delays and underwhelming results, it became evident that the project was beyond the freelancer’s capabilities.

Refusing to give up, Michael continued his search and, in May 2024, finally connected with a capable development team. While there were some early miscommunications regarding design assets and expectations, both sides ultimately agreed that the best path forward was to start fresh.

By August 2024, development officially began on a complete rebuild of Hooked on Sport Fishing Gaming App with a clean codebase, a clearer roadmap, and a renewed sense of purpose. As a gesture of goodwill, the team even offered a discounted rate to help move the project forward.
